Okay, I am making up a meme or whatever...why I have no idea other than restlessness so anyway here goes:

Look at my interests and this post. Ask anything (how I got into, what I like about, my fondest memory in, etc...) about my fandoms, the music I like, the books, etc...

EDIT: I also failed to mention that if there's something you know I'm into that isn't on either of those please feel free to ask about that (Moon Child, Gackt, Hyde I think all three fall into that category for example).

When I looked at that page, Nightmare on Elm Street jumped out at me. It's one of those things that logically I know must have a fandom because there's a fandom for everything, but hadn't considered before. How are you into the fandom, what's it like, and what got you into it?

You know I have no idea about the fandom to be honest. I know that I've seen icons, at least one Freddy in an RP and talked to people but I've never looked to see if it was organized in any way, shape or form. I should really do that. (I just did a check and apparently quite a few horror movie LiveJournals and stuff like that have it listed. I might have to go searching this weekend).

I've always been fascinated by dreams, and while by no means am I really into horror movies this one sort of stood out to me. I usually try to watch at least the first one every Halloween. I love the character of Freddy and how teenagers have to be the ones to go against him. How even when you have a largeish cast everyone usually gets a moment to shine (especially in #3(Dream Warriors) and #4(The Dream Master) As corny as "Freddy's Dead" was I loved the major plot point. A lot actually.

I am trying to remember the first time I saw it...hmmmmmmm...which I can't. Wow. I remembered watching number three at my Dad's house in North Carolina one summer when I was visiting, but I don't think it was the first time I saw it.

I've even had Freddy dreams before. They are up there on the weirdness/creepiness scale, but not the top.

I'm fairly certain I've seen all of the Elm Street movies. My best friend in high school and I were really into horror flicks, and they were particular favorites despite the fact that Freddy STILL scares the beejeebus out of me (If Muggles had boggarts, Freddy would be mine, for real.) It's been so long since I watched most of them that they all sort of run together for me, but I really liked New Nightmare. I was so excited when it came out. If memory serves, I saw it twice in the theatre.

You know they've never scared me, at least not like I watch them and get freaked out. Now, if I think about a scene RIGHT before going to bed that's a different story.

I also have a couple of novels that were released in the late 90s. I'm still missing one. And have all of the movies on DVD.

I saw "Freddy vs. Jason" in the theatre, but I don't know about the others. I'm pretty sure none of the early ones. It's possible I saw New Nightmare in the theatre.
