Okay, I'd been dying to see the anime Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) for quite a while. I finally caved sometime I think in early spring of 2009, perhaps it was closer to summer. Anyway, I loved every minute of it. I try, though am not always successful, to have my icons reflect things I am into it so when I was able to get more icons I went out and found a couple for it. I picked this one because not only did I like the composition, but I think it reflected the character for me really well and those are usually the top things I seek out when I try to find icons from a show. I wish I had been been able to come up with different keywords for this one, but the more I think about it this just fits. It's just him.

I read the Uglies series quite a while back, but didn't buy the books. When I went to work for Hastings I was pulled back in and went and bought the trilogy. I wanted an icon, because I basically wanted an excuse to share my thoughts on the series with everyone. This icon is from the cover of the second book and, while not the most intense of the three, I really liked how simple this icon was. I've really gotten to the point where I like simple icons much better. Maybe just some color touch up and sharpening and that works for me most times, unless I'm looking for one for a particular reason. I also tend to like the ones that are close-up.

I LOVE The Neverending Story. Since I was a child I've thought it was just so amazing. I've always had a crush on Atreyu. I've always felt like Bastian reading because he had of his desire to see the end, having all of the characters become his friends through the journey of reading, and how he was changed by the end. I feel imagination is one of the most important things in the world and if we just keep that grain of sand there is always hope. It doesn't matter if we are late, because we can start over and all it takes is that one small grain.
Keywords: Andrew Smith.

Okay, I admit it. This icon is mostly for the pretty, but Andrew has become my "picture" of Raistlin since picking him for TR so this goes back to my intense love for Raist. I'm not sure why, other than the hotness, I picked this Andrew icon because in all honestly it is the least like Raistlin I can imagine, but maybe that's part of the fun.

To be honest I didn't even know this had anything to do with Taylor Swift when I picked it out, but perhaps that was for the best. I'm not too familiar with her music, but with what little I know it fits for the reason that I have it. I had another one originally with those keywords. It was specifically for my fiction. I have a lot of romance in all of the stuff I have around on the net so it worked, plus there was a sense of surrender in the first that fit for the first story I wrote on my LJ, if I remember correctly. Now, there is more a sense of a search, maybe even a struggle, but with a happier ending than the other one. I also like the lighting and how it helps with the romantic feel.
Keywords: dance like nobody's watchin'

I have major self-esteem issues. It's pretty bad sometimes, but when I dance I feel in control, strong and free even. I always want to remember to dance like no one is watching, because I need to remind myself sometimes that I'm okay just as I am and that we all take power, and beauty, where we can. The wording comes form the song "Come From the Heart" by Kathy Mattea. It comes from the chorus that sticks with me to this day, even though it's been years since I've actually heard the song, "You have to sing (sing) like you dont need the money
Love (love) like youll never get hurt
You gotta dance (dance) like nobodys watching
Its got to come from the heart if you want it to work". I try to remind myself of this when things get too much, no matter what might be going on. I liked this particular icon because even though the coloring is dark it is very difficult not to see the joy and optimism that is there if we just dance.
