So my attention was pointed in the direction of the Writer's Block question. Today it seems it's vampires vs werewolves. Okay, to be completely honest this is a no brainer for me, but since I actually feel like posting and not being a total flake here goes:

I love vampires. I've been obsessed with them since I was a teenager. I don't even remember how I actually became introduced to the idea..hmmmm...I may have even had a vampire dream before I knew what they were. I've never actually thought about why I am so interested in them before. I'm not even sure I could explain it. I have huge issues with darkness, especially total darkness, and yet I am drawn to vampires? Yeah, I'd probably give a psychologist so much to work with...anyway, other than reading, and watching, just about everything I can find which has vampires in it, and writing several vampire stories of my own I used to roleplay Vampire: The Masquerade. I miss table top gaming so much it's not even funny. So...yeah that's maybe less than I wanted to say, but we'll go with it.

As for werewolves to be honest only two times have I ever been remotely interested in were-creatures of any sort. The first was the book Blood and Chocolate, the other is the Anita Blake books. I think my favs are the were-rats maybe? So yes my slightly long winded answer that I'm not sure said all that much.

You do realize that I might just become addicted to this now. You are evil. *pouts* and I can't start watching it until I get home.

lol wow, everyone seems to love that prompt? I keep seeing it...

*laughs* I couldn't resist because this is me after all...I wonder what made them do it?

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
No idea. I'm guessing a lot of people like vampires and werewolves?

I have yet to have a vampire character. Perhaps I should consider this.

I still have quite a few of the White Wolf books..ummmm as far as rping I have one possible pup that might be in a game before the end of the year.

lol not very fond of werewolves huh?

Although I want to know what they mean by werewolves. Like, the traditional movie type? And vampires... Bram Stoker?

[identity profile] hirikosaunders.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
The wolves do appear to be losing over all. As for me personally, nope not really though I do like how White Wolf approaches them and you know I have read some decent werewolf stuff.

Ohhhhhh..I don't know? I actually didn't like Dracula all that much. I think this makes me weird?

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh it depends. I mean, I hate the Hollywood versions of both so if that's the prompt than neither.

But if we are talking about other versions?

[identity profile] hirikosaunders.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I...well mostly I've liked what I've come across vampire wise. There have been a few movies that I've been...meh and the like.

If I had to pick another version...hmmmmmmmm...I like Anne Rice's take a lot....but is that my favorite...I'm not sure.

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Never read Anne Rice and I heard she's a nutter. Haven't read many werewolf books either really, though.

[identity profile] hirikosaunders.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well her early ones are good, at least I think so, but apparently her later ones in the series got...well it's like she ignored needing an editor or something?

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
lol maybe she did? I dunno. I just heard she went insane over her work and got to be a mean jerk. So I never read her stuff. XD

[identity profile] hirikosaunders.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup...I can't argue with that. I really don't get it personally. I mean if I'm writing something and people love the characters enough to want to talk about them/play them isn't that a good thing?

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd think unless they plagiarized it'd be ok, but whatever. That's why I was put off.

I don't really get into typical werewolves but if we are extending it to shapeshifters in general I'd go with them, I guess. Depends on type.

[identity profile] hirikosaunders.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* I really liked how they were handled in Blood and Chocolate..and Anita Blake has a pretty great take on them too.

[identity profile] castalidragon.livejournal.com 2008-06-13 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
lol I know nothing of either. Answer my meme and explain them! XD *shameless plug*
