Okay, I don't usually do this, but I figured that I would give my thoughts on the new V pilot.

Okay, I enjoyed the updated parts-aka, having terrorism involved. So far I like the two human leads. I also like that we have been introduced to the fifth column. So far that part, I think, is being handled a bit better than the original. I also like the fact that the visitors have been here working on this for a while. I think the new teen guy, I am really going to be horrible with character names for a while, will be really interesting to watch.

What I don't like so much- I'm sorry. The actress who plays Anna is really beautiful, but she has none of the charisma, draw and threat that Diana had. I also miss Willie a lot. Part of the charm of the show was him. Things are moving VERY fast and I'm not sure I like it very much. I don't know if I like the news guy as much as I did the girl in the original, but I'm reserving judgment on most of the characters for now. I also miss the political commentary. I also miss the whole scientists having to run and hide and being in trouble, though they might bring that up as things go. Once again the main creator isn't involved so I'm kind of worried about that.

Just my thoughts so far. I also missed the feel of the original, but I know that would change so I'm going to see where it goes.

I never particularly felt like Morena Baccarin had much charisma on Firefly, and I didn't feel like she had much here. She always felt terribly miscast as Inara, to me, and while I do think she's rocking that pixie haircut on V... she's very bland to me.

I love Elizabeth Mitchell (the female FBI agent). I always love her, and this is no exception.

I wasn't sure I would like the new human leads, but so far HELL yes!

As for her son, and since I'm pretty sure it's going one of two ways, I'm just going to sit back and see which one they do. They could do a combination of both I guess.

I was hoping Anna would be more creepy, and more interesting, but so far she just...well stares. She's just making me miss Diana right now.

I've really only seen parts of the original, so I can't really hold them up next to each other and compare. I wanted to watch it all before the update aired, but I never got around to it.

I have all of it. The original miniseries and the series on DVD and then the second miniseries on tape. I even got to talk to the creator in an email. I still can't believe he emailed me back.

I've had mine for a while so I don't know how easy it all is to find. Worse comes to worse ignore the series and just see the two miniseries.

As for Diana I have to say that, at least for me, it would be hard for anyone to match up to that character as far as charisma and creepiness.

They sell the series DVDs cheap at Target, and I know I could order the mini-series. They've been repeating them on SyFy (ugh, why did you change your name, SciFi?) this past week, so maybe I'll be able to catch it that way.

Oh yeah I noticed they've been playing it on SyFy! I hope you get to catch it then.

I just need to get the one on DVD already 'cause I think my tape is not going to be playable for too much longer.

They're all on Amazon.com for fairly cheap.

I'll check it out. I'm hoping though that we have it where I work 'cause I think my discount will be pretty good on it. If we don't then Amazon.com it is.
