I just had a crazy revelation about L and the Shinigami...OMG. Can't unsee.

Title: A Day in the Lives
Canon: Death Note, V, Weiss Kreuz
Characters: L, Yoji Kudou, Anna
Summary: Just a day in the lives of pups
Note: These are not all my headvoices, but they are the loudest right now. Okay, I don't think I'll do another one of these, but I might so just a warning.
Rating: I don't see this getting above PG-13.

Yoji might one day get used to the fact he had no say in who his roommates were. )

I played just a tiny bit of Sims 2 tonight. I aged up the kids from the third gen to teens in the hopes that now I'm not dreading a crash every minute, and I'm a little better energy wise I can continue with the Quick family. I'm a little disappointed it will be a female heir again, but that's okay. In my desire to actually play I probably won't do college this gen, but we'll see. It's a good place to find a significant other for the sims so yeah.

Also, I started on an app for Yoji, as I mentioned on my twitter. I'm pretty excited, and stressed about it at the same time. I'll probably send it in next week so I can look at it again and maybe get someone else to check it out. I should do a canon revisit. Not that I think I'll need it per se, but I it'll help me. Also, I'll probably get on dear_mun and practice. It has been a while after all.

I don't want to have a whole bunch of pups so I'm trying to decide who will be definites. L for sure, and likely Anna. L will be hard to play without Light so who knows if he'll remain for long. I don't want to make him just a temp, but at the same time he'll be a pup I have take extra time with so yeah. After many rewatchings I've noticed a few things that I thought were interesting, but probably nothing that will affect him much anyway. I really should make a list and put them all in order and go from there. I want to remain a little even for gender since I didn't last time.

I also plan to start working again on my fics. I may just take one at a time, because I really want to finish "Papa's Gonna Buy You a Mockingbird" and I had a few ideas for Death Note fic.

This isn't really what I intended to post about today, though I might do the other post later. We'll see...

Okay, this will probably get long-winded so yeah.

Endlessly glowing white )

I had something else I was going to say, but I've forgotten it. Maybe that's for the best and I'll remember it if is important.

I hope this was at least somewhat coherent and eloquent because for some reason I guess I just needed to write it down.

I know there should be more on here so if you know I've played a game/watched a show/seen a movie/read a book and it isn't on here feel free to ask me who was my fav from it.

( Jun. 20th, 2010 05:32 pm)
So yeah Death Note has taken over my brain again. I should have known that would happen after watching it again, but you know.

Right now doing laundry, but once I get home in a couple of hours, or less, then I'll probably work on a fic. Not sure which one yet. I could normally work on it here, but right now I'm having to sit outside so it isn't very easy to see my screen. I also need to work out a schedule, but you know I haven't thought about it. It would help if I had the same days off each week, but that isn't likely to happen consistently so for now I'll just have to work around it.

Death Note *stops fangirlling*. Actually the squeeing might not stop for a while. I do apologize in advance. Actually the rewatch may have woken L back up *headdesk* My RP plans are not quite going the way I had hoped with both him and Yoji coming back, but we shall see how it works out.

I have to admit watching the English version of Death Note I'm pretty impressed. I usually, with a few exceptions, hardly ever watch the English, but there were some behind the scenes things that had interviews with the voice actors. I found the one that plays Light is one of favorite English voice actors, at least from the 90s era on, and the group that does it, Ocean group, is the one that did Ronin Warriors. And yes Ward Perry (aka Rowen) does a small part in the series which I found absolutely hilarious. Another anime that I truly enjoy the English Dub of is Petshop of Horrors.

On the voice front it is coming back slowly. I should be able to talk decently tomorrow, though I'll have to have some throat lozenges around and make sure I have a lot to drink so that I don't have a relapse. In order to stop it I may have to get a flu shot this Autumn, but I don't know yet. I have to go to the doctor at some point to take care of some things so I might check with them.

( Jun. 14th, 2010 06:51 pm)
Well this is a good news, bad news post.

Good News: I have all of the Death Note anime on DVD (I paid a little more than the sale price because I had to buy all of the second season discs separately, but it was still pretty cheap all things considered). I also have all of the Powerpuff Girls *dances happily*. I also bought a little scratching thing/hidey hole for Phantom. He took right to it so hopefully this will alleviate some problems I've been having with him. I know he's getting restless, but there isn't much I can do at this point.

Bad News: I am very, very sick, and probably tomorrow (thanks to having to overuse my voice today) will lose my voice. I am taking measures to try and ease it, but this is the second time this year so I'm pretty concerned at this point. I know it's connected to sinus stuff, but that doesn't help me prevent it from happening again, and it has never happened this soon after an episode so yeah it doesn't bode well methinks.

( Jun. 7th, 2010 07:13 pm)
Since the cable got turned off I've been rewatching things. Mostly to have something on in the background, but also just because I haven't seen these things in so long I'd forgotten how much I'd enjoyed them.

This week(ish) it's been Charmed. I'm almost finished with season 2. It'll be a while before I get to some of my fav episodes but I'm really looking forward to them *grins*. Honestly, it's making me miss RPing Chris so much, but I know it was for the best that I dropped him when I did and I don't think I'll be looking to play him anywhere probably ever again unless something really strange happens. It wasn't exactly how I planned to handle everything, but the first of this year was really a time for reevaluating just about everything in my life.

Also, on the RP front I have a bit of money so I'm considering trying to reset up Yoji's account. I'm tempted to put it off because I'm expecting a new bank card and it would be much easier to not have to worry about changing all of that stuff. I'll think about it after I finish doing stuff on the journal.

Soon, probably before I go to bed tonight, I'll be putting up an 'index' of sorts to all of my current stories. It will include a general summary of each story and the link will go to all tags for that story. I think this will be a pretty decent way to handle things, because honestly I've been on a writing rampage and I've got several going at once, which is something I'm not entirely used to. I'm glad it is happening, don't get me wrong, but I think some organizing just might be in order for everyone's sanity.

Speaking of writing, please don't forget about the polls. Here is the first one, just scroll down a tiny bit. And the second. I plan to attempt to work on this on my next day off, or that night when I get back from work, which as long as nothing changes is Thursday. I'd like to make sure that it's as fair as possible. I do have a few things planned out, but a lot of it depends on how the polls turn out.

I plan to put up another chapter of either Honey or Closer this week too.

( May. 3rd, 2010 05:44 pm)
There isn't too much to say about my life lately. I'm still looking for a job where I'll get as close to 40 hours as possible, or just work out a way to get more hours at current job. Even though I love it I don't think I'll be there much longer. I'm also continuing to try and get a job at the college, but that's not going the greatest so far.

As soon as I can start getting more hours I'll probably slowly work my way back into RPing. I think I'll use dear_mun first to practice some voices and go from there maybe.

I've finally figured out something about the current version of V. See, I couldn't tell my roommate I thought it was better than the original, but I couldn't really figure out why. I had just finished watching it the other night when it came to me. I don't think it's being as unique as the original. It's sort of hard to explain, but there was a feel to the original that I haven't seen in any other show of this type...maybe Alien Nation a bit, but just the ages of the characters, the WWII influence and background for the writing just was such a different view point, as well as science itself being a primary focus almost from the first hour (Diana's experiments as well as the scientists disappearing). I am still enjoying the current one a lot don't get me wrong, but it always feels like there is something missing with it when I compare the two.

I also still haven't figured out if I like Diana or Anna better. Anna is more creepy in her way, but Diana was very fun and dangerous in a very different way. Actually, Anna is one of the character's I'm considering RPing. I really don't know how she would work many places so she's kind of on the way back burner for now until I can really spend the time and energy to figure some things out.

Okay, first things first: I know I haven't said how much I love the Uglies series (Uglies, Pretties, Specials and Extras) by Scott Westerfeld. I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to comment on them (or at least to comment on them at length). They are well written, thought provoking and all of the characters are interesting, developed and they take you on their journey. It has a lot of concepts in it that are likely to provoke controversy and discussion, in a good way, and nothing is ever simple or cut and dry. The world is complex which makes reading it over again worth it as you notice little things you hadn't before.

Secondly, I have finally gotten to see Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). I am still processing the ending. I am so glad I found it, even if it did take me way too long to decide to track down. I plan on checking out the manga as soon as possible. Probably tomorrow if things go well. And "London Bridge is Falling Down" will never be the same again.

Other than that work is going decently. I am thankful that I'm not getting a lot of hours at the moment because I'm still trying to take care of a few things, but I will be glad when things pick up so after I get everything taken care of so I'll be ready for more hours, at least I'm hoping I'll get more as it gets closer to Christmas.

Okay, it's come down to begging my F-list for help.

Any of you on my friends list watch X-Men: Evolution? If so do you happen to know the episode where Rogue and Nightcrawler walk away from Mystique? it is season 2 or 3 and she's reaching towards them from what sort of looks like a castle, but I could have been mistaken.

If you need something visual there's a music video that shows it just let me know and I'll get the link.

Not being able to figure out where this scene is from is driving me slightly crazy. Thanks.

( Aug. 31st, 2009 09:19 pm)
First: Semi good news on the job front. I talked today to apparently the new hiring manager at Hastings and I left my number with her after telling her I have open availability, and that some time ago I worked in a similar set up (the bookstore at Berea College). She said she's going to track down my application so I'm cautiously optimistic that we might get to an interview.

There are two other places in the same shopping plaza that are taking applications/hiring that I will be checking on tomorrow probably. Wednesday at the latest.

Now, I know that my friends list is somewhat divided on Twilight. I've accepted this and am not really bothered either way and have fun with the ones who enjoy it. However, last night I managed to finally finish Breaking Dawn so I thought I would give my thoughts on the series:

Cutting for those who don't care. I am warning for spoilers though I'm pretty sure that it won't be a big deal at this point.

Enter the Savage Garden. )

I know I was going to say more, but I couldn't get to the computer in time to get it all out. I welcome any sort of respectful discussion and disagreement with my numbers since it's kind of me just looking back on things.

And it's time for under appreciated character number 2: Shu (Kento) Rei (Lei) Faun:

He's from Samuari Troopers (Ronin Warriors). He starts out being pretty stereotypical: he is the slightly chubby, strong guy who only wants to fight, rushes in without thinking, and is only concerned about eating. But there's more to him than that. He's not dumb being the first one to put together what the armors might actually mean. Of course, he's helped with this, but that is because he's the one that actually has the right thought process to let it sink in. He faces the most intelligent and manipulative of the warlords and holds his own so how can he not be intelligent in his own way? Yes, he does rush into things but this doesn't make him stupid or less interesting than the others. He is solid, like his element, and pretty amazing.

I've been thinking about this for a while and it's finally time to do it. This will by no means be something I do regularly, but it's long overdue.

Characters I love who either:
A.) don't get enough attention, or are overshadowed by others or,
B.) are not fully appreciated because perhaps they are not main characters, or are harder for people to get into.

Today's choice: Caramon Majere

He is overshadowed by Raistln a lot, but darnnit he's just as intelligent in his own way and he's just deep down a good guy. Now I am guilty I must admit. You see when I first read the books I didn't like him all that much. I never, and still don't for the most part, go for the 'good guy', especially when it's so easy for him to be good. Everyone looks up to Caramon, trusts him, respects him and enjoys his company. So yeah I ignored him pretty quickly or lumped him in with Raistln.

As I grew older though and I went back and reread I developed a real love for him. He's willing to sacrifice everything for his brother, but in the end he finally grows to accept Raistlin for who he is. He maybe wouldn't have been such a good guy without Raistlin around, but that doesn't change any of it. He gets the most development of any character in the series bar none.

He still has his flaws, but he learns from them. No, he'll never be a genius and his son and brother will still run circles around him mentally, but he is observant and he has a real grasp of people. He is strong. No not physical strength. He literally does stand at the gates of hell and doesn't back down.

This perhaps jumping ahead of myself, but I care not!

In the top meme going around I haven't been asked this yet, but I wanted to get this out since I had been thinking about it.

These are in no particular order:
Top five fictional characters:

1. Farfarello (Weiss Kreuz): Wow, just such an original concept and while he's scary as shit there's some sexy in there as well as vulnerability and sympathy.
2. Paul Atreides (Dune): My first fictional crush who established forever my love of dark-haired. light-eyed men.
3. Raistlin Majere (Dragonlance): Everything is his fault, trust me. It just is.
4. Lestat (Vampire Chronicles): So I'm into vampires, yeah? I don't remember when it started, or how, but he cemented it in a big way.
5. Any version of Beauty (Beauty and the Beast, etc..): My favorite fairytale of all times, in most cases no matter the version.

So yeah just took my next to last final and let's just say I'm not feeling optimistic about my grades this semester. I am hoping that I at least need what I get to in order to take what I have scheduled next semester, but we shall see I guess.

More of my fiction will be coming this weekend more than likely. I also would like to get more original work up. So far I have a few ideas, but when I actually sit down to type will decide what happens.

I got to see Moon Child last night. OMG I am in love. See, I was already doomed with Gackt. I mean over the past two days I've bought nine of his songs so I knew, but after seeing this movie I must give love to Hyde as well. It is scary and strange and very Marissa. Yeah, so I've already watched it twice and changed my TR queue because of Kei. It's probably for the best I really had nowhere to go if I brought in Hikaru though I love him *shrugs*. I'll keep my mind open, but I'm pretty much decided on Bella and Kei and then FINISH. NO MORE APPING. I may not keep this promise, but I want to focus on my current pups and get them really connected, and with Weiss pups on the way then Aya will be busy so it's all good.

Mostly I have done nothing this weekend but watch Hikaru no Go. It is addictive and I recommend it highly! I think it's on DVD so you should be able to rent somewhere?

I just finished a bit of homework, but still a bit to do before I'm caught up. I want to destress this week, but it might not happen. Mostly I just don't handle stress well and I tend to make it worse putting things off.

Ummm..more on the fandom front *grins*. I have all Weiss Kreuz official music videos for anyone who wants to see. I should make this clear that I didn't put them up there, just did some searching to collect all of them in one place. I would like to find them somewhere other than youtube, but you take what you can get I guess.

HERE:
Tokyo Sling. Violence, and actual plot which just begs for a story. Also, slashy undertones as well as quite a bit of blood.

Carnival 2000. Also violence, no plot other than some fighting.

Last in My Winds. Ummmm...pretty safe, nice pretty art..etc...

Other Side of the Moon. Yeah this one should be pretty safe, a little strange in places maybe, but hey just go with it.

I just found out something that has reminded me why I maybe don't put myself out there as much online as I could.

My first experience meeting someone in real life that I knew online went horribly and now this.

I'm not as trusting as people think I am, or maybe as I want to be. Of course there are times when I can't help but be glad.

Sorry to be cryptic just needed to get this out there. I wasn't hurt as much as some people and I'm torn between shocked, sad and maybe just a little pissed off.
hirikosaunders: (Dragonlance: Raistlin/official art)
( Jan. 16th, 2008 06:52 pm)
This will be a relatively short post. I intend to totally discuss all of the first week of school, but that probably won't happen until the weekend.

Now I don't usually talk about movies and rarely do I review them, but this is a momentous occasion. Since around 1997 I have been obsessed with Dragonlance (Everything is still Raistlin's fault) and have waited for them to make some sort of movie or show. I've even cast, mostly, a live action version. Well, yesterday I need wait no longer. In my hot little hands was the movie of the first book. So here goes my thoughts:

The animation was not as well done as one would hope, I go so far as to say it was quite mediocre in fact; there were some really good points though which helps. The voice acting was decent, but no one went that extra mile it seemed to me. Tas was the best character in his acting and everything, but they didn't take full advantage of the actor. The CGI was good, but did not blend well with everything around it, and they changed some things they should not have and left some things out that I wouldn't have. All in all a C, maybe if I push it a C+. Of course, this doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy every second simply because I was finally getting to see it. They did hint at a sequel so I am hoping that they put more energy and talent into it. One thing I must say is that at least I didn't dislike it as much as many fans seem to.
hirikosaunders: (Ronin Warriors: Rowen/calling home)
( Nov. 14th, 2007 07:44 pm)
Well if I don't totally mess up this semester, which is a high possibility sadly, this is what my schedule for classes looks like next semester: Intro to Creative Writing (which might actually get me off of my butt, but we shall have to see), Business Finance I (Oh the excitement...only not so much), Operations Management(no excitement here either), Services Marketing (minor excitement, but you know not really), Internet Marketing (*shrugs*) and finally Survey of the Music Industry II (this one might be a little interesting, but we shall see). Anyway, yes let's hope that I do not mess up this semester and you know run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to fix it.

There is also the whole fear/nervousness of trying to get ready to graduate. I can't afford to waste time at all because I will go through the financial mess that I went through (which I've still not really recovered from) when I graduated the last time. I'm pretty sure I'll have to move and while it's exciting I just...well I don't know if I'm ready.

As can be seen from my icon a certain fandom, which is never far from my heart anyway, is back in the spotlight. I first saw Ronin Warriors (Samurai Troopers in the Japanese) in 96-97? A friend got a hold of all of the episodes through another friend when he saw her printing out pictures from the series and told her he had the episodes. Since then I have had to sit through untranslated movies, buying action figures, them finally putting the DVDs out and finding out how different, and yet amazingly the same, that the English version was, and of course I've been through many fandoms since. Now I finally have icons (Yay!) and will be putting the music from it in MP3 format very soon (probably over break?) so I am a little giddy. Weiss Kreuz is making it's way back into the front of my head again too so *grins*.

I'm still RPing and loving it, but then that isn't really news, now is it? I have made new journals for characters but who knows if they will go anywhere.

Now I'm sure that everyone across the country heard my squee of delight. If not, then please know it was there and loud and geeky.

I have just seen the official, at least I think, trailer for the upcoming Dragonlance animated movie (being released direct to DVD). I must admit that I am torn between being VERY excited and VERY concerned. They do use CGI, but not throughout the whole thing. I don't like the art very much at all, and I couldn't tell much about the voice acting yet so...
hirikosaunders: (Charmed: quote/obsess)
( Aug. 21st, 2007 12:15 pm)
The second day of classes is about midway finished and so far it seems like it will be a busy, but not too stressful, semester.

I love my teacher for my Harry Potter class. It is good to see a professor being so geeky, and yet knowing he will have us write papers that I actually want to write. I haven't felt this way for quite a long time. Is that showing my inner literature geek? *shrugs*.

Anyway, aside from school with lots of reading, and quite a bit of busy work it seems, I am involved in two rps with a total of eight characters. I don't get them out near as much as I should so I am looking to fix that this semester. Raistlin is singlehandedly working on that since almost every post that comes up he wants to tag into. And of course I must now do extensive writings on my views on his relationships in the Dragonlance books. *headdesk* And really I thought he was slightly anti-social, go figure. He even has a few hates and likes already. One of them slightly worries me, but we won't get into that right now. I also want to throw him into secret/Halloween plot, but I don't know yet what I would do exactly so I'm working on that.

Other than worrying about financial aid(what else is new?), and trying to figure out how to get my new, desperately needed, computer not much is going on. Getting back into the grove of school, and trying to catch up on video games is taking a lot of my energy this week. Hopefully by the weekend I will feel up to doing more.
I have a few theories/questions that I want to get out there before the book comes out. Surprisingly, or not, most of them are about Snape, directly or indirectly.

please move in an orderly fashion )

As I think of more, because I know I had them, I will be adding. Also, I am likely to organize them a bit more since they are pretty rough at this point.

I am getting so anxious for the movie it's not even funny. Weeeeeeeeee!

Summer school is going pretty smoothly, though I cannot wait until it is over. I will still be busy when it is over as I prepare for next semester and try to make some hard decisions about a few things.

I've recently gotten back into Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (aka live action Sailor Moon)...now if the downloads of the special acts would just get done already. It's not making me happy that's for sure, but it is making me want to want to see original anime again.

My friend would tape the episodes for me when I was at Berea since there was no cable in the dorm rooms. There are a lot of things I'm still into that come from around that point in my life. In fact, I wouldn't be into anime if it wasn't for certain events right before I went back to school.

( Mar. 27th, 2007 05:53 pm)
Is this really me posting again? Hopefully it will become a habit for me to at least post once a week, anyway, as I stepped away from the computer I was reminded of something else I wanted to mention.

I have tried to catch up on my reading lately, though it hasn't gone so well this week. I have read a couple of novels by Dean Koontz: The Taking (I recommend this highly though for spoiler reasons I can't fully explain why), Husband and Seize the Night (a follow-up to Fear Nothing, at least I think that's the title). To be honest in some ways as much as I enjoy him I am uncertain as to why. I normally don't like suspense, and his books are largely suspense based. Also, while his characters are always very interesting and unique they are nowhere near those of Stephen King, at least in my opinion. I suppose the biggest reason I like his work is that even though I usually am too impatient and restless for suspense he is very talented at pulling you in. You don't even realize you're following a mystery until you are hooked. I would like to read more of his novels, but I've read most of the ones that my library has, though I do have a few more checked out.

I also recently checked out Watership Down. I think I tried to read it when I was much younger and didn't make it all the way, probably just a bit over halfway. It was one of my favorite cartoons as a child and I am so glad I am getting to connect with it again.

There are way too many books I have that I need to read. I still haven't finished all of the Narnia series, or the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. At least I have them both and can. Also, still must finish Tolkien! Again, this is one I've started to read many times and haven't; there are a lot like that.

I just checked, and wow has it been a long time since I've updated, and that sadly was mostly to vent. I suppose it feels weird sometimes to update when not much has changed.

However, I can't really use that as a an excuse this time. There have been a lot changes in my life recently. The biggest, as most everyone knows who has looked at the most recent posts of mine, is that I moved at the end of January. Even with all of the craziness still going on as the house is being worked on I must say I am very happy. It is near school so it usually on takes me five or ten minutes to get here each morning, which means more sleep (this makes for a very happy Marissa). There have been some problems, and minor stresses, but hopefully they are all passed now, or if they continue remain as minor as possible.

My cat, Kyra, is still lost. I don't know what to do since it isn't really feasible for me to go back to my old place and try to look for her. Maybe that will happen eventually, but I don't see it happening anytime soon so I continue to worry. Luckily we managed to hang on to the psycho one, known most of the time as Phantom or Psycho Kitty.

Still working on replacing my iPod, since it would cost more to fix the one I have then to just get a new one. As it gets warmer I get more impatient because I would like to have one so I could go walking more. I also plan to upgrade my computer's memory and ram and get an external hard drive this summer. I love my computer, but it is long past time for an upgrade, seriously.

I've actually been working a bit more with icons lately. I need to go through and work some of the tutorials that I have, and maybe actually seeing about upgrading my photoshop at some point. One of my bosses at work has offered to put it on one of the computers there and work with me on it.

I'm still working on FF12 and Suikoden 5, but they go slowly since school is taking up quite a bit of time recently. Especially this one class that if I didn't absolute need would be dropped so fast it's not even funny. I have a Yu Yu Hakusho video game and well, let's just say as much as I love the series I think that whoever made the game should probably be punished in some horrible, very creative, way because while of course since it is a fighting game there must be button mashing the particular style of button mashing is annoying and makes no sense and seems to require at times extra fingers...perhaps this is just me.

I am still rping, but because of school and a few other things that have sort up happened recently I've not done very much with my pups at all. Hopefully this will change, especially when summer gets here.

I can't wait for summer, mostly for the fact I'll more money than for the VERY warm weather. Also, I probably won't be taking any classes so that will be a bit of a relief. I hope to be able to go to Otakon, but unless I start doing something soon I'm not sure how I will work it out. I still haven't heard from a few places where I sent my stories some months back so I suppose in May it will be time to do the rounds again.

I haven't really thought about the last Harry book yet because it really hadn't hit me until recently how soon it was going to be here. Naturally, like most everyone I have ideas, though they are mostly questions actually that I think she should answer. Of course, I am not holding my breath because I fully accept that maybe I am over-analyzing and I may be the only person who wants to know the answers to certain things(well okay not really but it is possible). If the money situation in April allows I will probably pre-order and get that out of the way then its wait for the movie. Also, there is an animated Dragonlance movie coming out in fall that I'm excited about.

Now that I've rambled (and boy have I rambled) I guess I will take my leave of this post. Hopefully I will actually start updating more, at least this is the plan. Also, I would like to actually have more of my writing here. I still need to work on my homepage as well.

Title: untitled at the moment...
Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters: Lily Potter, James Potter, Voldemort, and Harry Potter
Rating: G-PG(for mention of violence/death)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me. Last time I checked I wasn't J.K. Rowling I was a poor college student. No money being made here. Also, there is no beta here at this point, and it was written very quickly so revising will probably take place at some point soon, so yes any mistakes are mine. If you should notice any please feel free to point them out and I will do my best to fix them. Thanks...
Summary: Lily's thoughts in those final moments.(Lame yes I know, but hey it works...right?)

True Bravery... )
After that hopefully introspective entry I now come to one that is basically just full of me squeeing so feel free to ignore, or not if you agree.

I am addicted to Supernatural. So very addicted. I haven't seen any of season 1, well except for the occasional flashback, but luckily so far I haven't missed any of season 2 so there is much joy! I love the premise, and the plot has me hooked as well as the great chemistry with the two lead actors. So SQUEE!

Thank you for letting me take this moment to just be a fangirl *smiles*.

There's been quite a bit going on so I guess this will turn out to be a long post.

First, I am now back on powerlink. YAY! Hopefully there will no longer be any money issues that will interfere with my net.

Second thanks to a friend I've gotten to see a few movies in the past week; Lady in the Water being the first. I wish I were eloquent enough to truly say something meaningful about this movie but all I can say is that I thought it was beautiful, and to be perfectly honest I needed it even if I didn't know I did.

I also saw V for Vendetta. I enjoyed it and will never doubt how necessary a movie like this is, though I had to admit there were a few scenes that bothered me so I probably won't buy it. I love how he was able to make the mask almost have expressions, and the hair became something almost alive at times.

The last movie was Ultraviolet. This movie was really good, and had a lot more twists and turns then I would have thought, and who really can resist Milla..I mean really.

A couple of weeks ago I also got the chance to see Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I really enjoyed them both and the day out by myself turned out to be something really good for me, and kind of cleansing actually.

( Jul. 24th, 2006 10:49 am)
I recently realized that I don't really have anything on my bio so that well perhaps I should remedy that, probably in the next couple of days, and give somewhat of an introduction, since I'm not at all certain that I have...so here goes.

I'm in college in Richmond Kentucky, though because of several mishaps and some time out of school, I'm older than most other students (my birthday is on my info page). I am working on becoming a published writer, though it goes very slowly truth be told. I write fan fiction, most of it slash, and will post it here. It will probably be filtered because I know a couple of people on my friends list probably won't want to read it. I don't really have one fandom I write in, though right now most of what I have written, at least started, is from The Sentinel, Weiss Kreuz, Yu Yu Hakusho and Harry Potter. I have begun working with icons, so probably from time to time I will post them here, I wouldn't mind any critiques or encouragement *smiles*.

I mainly stay at home when I'm not at school or work (which I'm in the process of trying to find a job before the end of August wish me luck!) so I really don't usually have too much to say. I'm hoping that will change and it will all be good, exciting news (no one hold their breath *grins*). This journal, unless something major comes up probably won't ever be friends locked, I really don't post enough or say much of anything that would require this. Of course as soon as I say that *grins*. I don't comment a lot in other people's journals, though I am trying to get better with this and keep in touch with people.

(I keep having to add things because I lose..*sighs*)Basically the fandoms I am into(I will probably forget some so yeah)...this could take a while...Charmed, Star Trek, V, Nightmare on Elm Street, Dragonlance, Harry Potter, Anita Blake Vampire Hunter novel series, The Sentinel, Phantom of the Opera(just about any version), Disney and Pixar-Beauty and the Beast and the Incredibles just to name a couple, Most anything with vampires in it, Velvet Goldmine. Anime-Yu Yu Hakusho, Vampire Princess Miyu, Hikaru no Go, Weiss Kreuz, Ronin Warriors, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and the original Bubblegum Crisis(though I haven't seen it in a long time), Sailor Moon (though I prefer uncut and the live action actually), Fruits Basket and His and Her Circumstances, Vampire Hunter D, and Petshop of Horrors. I know I've not put everything here, but it's a start at least.

I have pretty diverse tastes in music..for the most part I just love it in general (I am a Music Marketing major). However, since at least locally there isn't much of a music scene I mostly know what's on the radio. However, I hope to get to Lexington more to hear some local bands. I love the Goo Goo Dolls, Abba, Alanis Morissette, Billy Joel, Bowling for Soup, Cher, David Bowie, just about any 80s music, Duran Duran, The Eagles, Elton John, Disney(I know, I'm hopeless), Evanescence, Fiona Apple, Gorillaz, HIM, Kate Bush, Kelly Clarkson(I know this one shocked me too), The Killers, just about any Broadway, Live, Milla, Nelson, Nine Inch Nails, Pink, Prince, Queen, Rufus Wainwright, Sarah McLachlan, Shakespeare's Sister, Shakira, Sophie B. Hawkins, Stevie Nicks(which of course includes when she was with Fleetwood Mac), Vertical Horizon...this just names a few...I'm scary yes I know.

I promise this will be the last edit: (okay maybe I can't promise that *grins*) Anyway, please feel free to friend if you happen to find this journal and have similiar interests or anything.

Well that wasn't so bad, see rant over. Anyway any thoughts? It's sort of a moot point really but it also just sort of got stuck in my head *grins*

Well the interview is over, the stories are mailed, and the applications are turned in so now all there is to do is wait. I hate waiting, have I mentioned this lately? My hours go down next week so I am hoping I will hear something from one of these places soon.

I hope to get some more writing done soon so there will be things to mail come September and October.

I am dying to see the last episode of Charmed..both Drew and Wes make an appearance so it is just so cool!!! Okay, I am over that I guess *grins*.

I hope to be able sometime in July to get the 5th season of Charmed and the 1st season of the Sentinel. I can't wait till I can afford them. Of course this will be after financial things are caught up, with probably won't be till August so I will try and be patient.

*grins* Anyway, I guess that's all for now.

Well thanks to my friend I've gotten to see a few movies in the past couple of days....Rent, Pitch Black and Sin City.

I have become obsessed with Rent there is no other way to put it. I bought the original broadway recording from itunes, thanks to roommie, and will more than likely buy the movie eventually, but Harry must come first. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised since I love Broadway so much *grins*.

I really liked Pitch Black and Sin City. There were a lot of interesting very developed characters in both and I loved the way that Sin City was done...using color for only certain things and not telling the stories chronologically was just such a great way to make you think while you were watching it.

I also have the 4th season of Charmed and am watching that...*grins* hopefully I can have a marathon soon and hopefully it won't take them long to get out seasons 5 and 6.

Not much else going on...except that aside from the movies above [livejournal.com profile] the_blank_slate is making me want to read the Bridget Jones books, I'm waiting for the first to come back to the library...*grins*

Well again I know that there is just so much excitement here and yet I must be off..*grins*

My life is just so exciting....not. I am trying to update more so here goes I guess..*grins*. I pre-ordered the fourth season of Charmed, and am still trying to get the Phantom of the Opera mini-series..*crosses fingers*.

School is going pretty well. I should get back money from my book voucher hopefully around Saturday, but I'm not really sure. I got my stuff to do taxes so I will probably do that this week or the beginning of next week. Mainly I'll be paying bills and buying clothes.

I am going to try to get caught up on my reading and DVD watching as well maybe this weekend?

See I told you my life was just so exciting..*snickers* Anyway, that's all for now...hopefully I will write again before the end of the week.

I know..it's shocking isn't it I'm actually updating..*grins* Anyway....the main point of this post is to say that I finally got around to buying the soundtrack of Wicked and I totally love it! Now to read the book..*grins* I downloaded it last night from itunes and was listening to it today and I totally love it! Especially some of the songs that for some reason remind me of Harry Potter characters...or maybe that's just me being obsessed? Anyway, I thought I would share...*grins* *points to icon* Yes, I am in fact I'm at work now....bye for now.

P.S. Should find some Wicked icons...yes....

Aside from trying to get back into the groove of school not much going on...I didn't chicken out of my voice class and am in a chorus so that should be interesting. *grins* I don't think school is going to be too bad this semester most of the classes seem pretty straight forward.

Finally have all of my music, except for maybe about 10 songs, on my iPod...1085 songs..*grins*

I still haven't finished any of my box sets that I bought at Otakon...*laughs* I've watched most of Kare Kano, still have two disks to go though.

I have another website but haven't done anything with it yet. It's much easier to update and things like that but it requires energy which I don't seem to have that much of lately..*grins*

other than this stuff not much going on......I guess I shall update later...

Well I watched most of Beck and I have to say that I really enjoy this anime....I would enjoy it even more were it not for the fact that the songs they sing in English have no grammar to speak of.  Okay that's not totally true.....it's just not English grammar.  I am not usually a grammar person, but I do like to understand what the sentence is trying to say without trying to add, change, or take away words first.

All of that being said.....I really like the characters and the spoken English is really well done.  Also, the main character..can't remember his name at the moment.....has a really enjoyable voice.  I also like all of the references to rock groups and singers.  The characters are really well thought out and make a lot of sense.....

Not much else to say at this point except that I am looking forward to watching more of it this week and downloading the rest of Prince of Tennis and Yakitate! Japan...

Well, I finished reading Howl's Moving Castle and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.  I found that every character was very interesting and had a lot of development and there were several twists that were really good.  I aslo read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.  I know it has surprised everyone that I have told that this is the first time I read the Narnia books.  To be honest I have no idea why it took me so long but I must say that I am enjoying them very much and can't wait for the movie to come out.  I am a little partial to Edmund because, if I remember correctly, he is the favorite of a very good friend of mine.

Right now I am reading Prince Caspian and more than likely will have it finished before the end of the day.

I also can't wait until the new Harry Potter book comes out......I am a going to a midnight release party so that should be interesting at the very least.

As for the anime part of the subject of this journal......I have recently gotten into a new anime named Yakitate Japan....I don't know what to say here except that it is funny and enjoyable and the characters are very interesting.....Also, I downloaded another anime named Beck, which was shown to me by the same person that showed me Yakitate Japan, and if I remember correctly it is about a band getting together...

I still have to catch up on Naruto and Prince of Tennis..which, since I don't think I will be working very much at the end of July and beginning of August, I will do then.....

EDIT I finished "Prince Caspian" and now am working on "The Magician's Nephew"....I found two different orders for the books so I think I am reading it in the most logical order...I hope...

Wow...this is amazing two posts in one day. I haven't done this in about a year? Anyway, basically this post is kinda of me finally commenting on some of the movies that I have seen recently and the ones that I want to see....

I'm not a film critic and in some ways really don't like evaluating films too deeply because I think that takes away from just enjoying them for what they are. That being said I want to say that I really enjoyed the three movies I have seen this summer. Revenge of the Sith, Batman Begins, Howl's Moving Castle....I must admit to being a little partial since I really like Christian Bale(to be honest I have only seen Velvet Goldmine but I am anxious to see more of what he's done). When my friend told me he was going to be Batman I knew that I had to see it. I thought that he brought an interesting feel to the character. I appreciated also that it dealt with his beginnings which was really a unique perspective.

I enjoyed Howl's so much that I bought the book(I would be reading it now but I am letting a friend borrow it). I found the character of Howl very interesting and complex because there are times that he appears childlike and yet there are also the times when you see him as very powerful and in charge.

As for Sith, I have been a Star Wars fan since I was young, though I don't think many people who see me know it. Most of the time I am not very obvious I guess, though I do have the novelizations of all of the movies and have several of the Jedi Apprentice books(need more of them they are well written for "Young Reader" type books). I thought this was the best of the six simply because it tied everything together showing, in a very realistic way, how the Republic became the Empire, and how the whole world itself became the darker more lived in place that it was in Episode IV.

There are several movies coming out that I want to see so without further ado... Bewitched....I am a fan, though not Major fan, of the original series. I like the fact that it's going to be a movie within a movie because I think that is a really unique way to deal with it. Fantastic Four.....The main reason I want to see this movie is because the super-hero movies that are coming out now seem to be better written and more thought out. If I think of any others I may post later, so for now......*waves*

Not much going on..right now I am just getting used to working at a library again. I did not realize how much I missed it; I know sounds lame, but..*shrug*..I don't miss the cold though..

I am going to see Star Wars on Thursday, thanks to the kindness of Paul(Allen). I don't know how well I am going to deal with all of the crowds though...

I still have to catch up on Naruto and Prince of Tennis. Sometimes it is very difficult to be into series that are so long.

I may be going to a con this summer, though I am not holding my breath. Paul (Allen) wants to go and needs company for the ride up; however, he also has several Other things that he wants to do, which will require major moving, so I don't know if he will still be here and I am hesitant to make definite plans because if he does not go then I don't think it will make financial sense for me to go.

Speaking of money...I am hoping that since both Jeri and I get paid 3 times in June that we can catch everything up (mainly phone and internet/cable are problems right now). I also want to see about getting some sort of help, but not sure where is the best to go.

Well, I guess that's all for now...I hope to update more often since it's summer...

I recently bought Suikoden 4...if I can tear myself away from it I hope to be able to do some writing this week. I started looking through some of my unfinished stories and kinda got inspired....also watching lots of Prince of Persia doesn't hurt *smile*. I updated my index page to basically say that I was going try and get some writing done and some of the unfinished stories worked on....I keep saying I am going to update but just don't get the time..*sigh*...Also, I still need to rewrite my one vampire story to see if I can get it sold before summer *crosses fingers*.

Classes are going a little better...I still have one class that I wish I was doing better in, but you know how that goes. I got an A on my Economics test! Yeah! I am really looking forward to this semester being over.

I am still working at Wal-Mart, though I am hoping to maybe get something on campus, though I don't think that the chances are very good.

I hope everyone is having a good Valentine's Day!

( Jul. 24th, 2004 04:36 pm)
I played with the layout a little and like this one much better....still have some work to do on my webpage......the biggest thing that I will have to do is get my fiction page back up and running because most of those stories are on a zip disk and I don't have a zip drive at home.

I still haven't got to watch all of my Yu Yu Hakusho dvds yet, but hopefully I will get to watch several things after summer school is over. My roommate gave me several disks of some new Anime that I haven't seen yet and is yelling at me to watch them. *smile* I have also gotten addicted to the show Danny Phantom.

I put more minutes on my cell phone last night so I should be able to use it again finally. I don't use it much anyway, but it is handy to have. Just tested it and everything is cool.

Well...off to take care of some stuff be on later.
