frogmajick gave me J:
James Potter: (Harry Potter) I am probably not with the main part of fandom in that I really don't like him all that much. I felt like I needed more about his development from the bully that we see him as in the later books to the man that Lily falls in love with. However, as much as I dislike him playing Lily has given me me an appreciation for him. I sort of see him now as someone who could make that transition, though I still would have liked to see it.
Jack Dalton: (MacGyver) Pretty much the friend that you can't quite bring yourself to hate. The one that gets you into trouble every time, but you can't bring yourself to say no when he comes to you. And somehow in the end even with his schemes he's got a good heart and helps when push comes to shove. This character could have been a cliche and not interesting, but he was so much the opposite.
Jim Hawkins: (Treasure Planet) Mostly from "Treasure Planet". I loved this movie and I thought that they did a great job with the relationships, most especially between him and Long John Silver (I could cheat but I won't so yeah *laughs*). I also thought that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was absolutely brilliant with his voice.
Captain Jack Sparrow: (Pirates of the Caribbean) I loved how his character developed over the span of the three movies. I love that he didn't need to become a 'good guy' to do good things and I love how while he didn't change he was still a character that showed different sides of himself. He was clever while still being slightly lost, slightly goofy, but always true to what it was he valued.
Jim Ironheart: (Cold Fire) Dean Koontz creates brilliant characters and Jim is no exception. He's a decent guy who doesn't see his own potential. He's strong without being unapproachable. His journey is both internal and external and I can't say too much more without giving things away.
